I am spending a lot of time tilling my garden soil and planting seeds and starts. It is great exercise and my body is also being strengthened by the high nutritional value of the fresh-picked osaka, kale and chard I am harvesting to eat right now. As a naturopathic doctor, I recommend tending a garden as a healing modality that benefits body, mind and spirit.
Barbara Kingsolver’s book, “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle” is the best gardening book I have ever read and it inspired me to grow and preserve most of the produce I ate this year. Her website link is here. I highly recommend it!
